FlashMXFiles is giving away this book, Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Hands-On Training, in a new contest! What's the contest you ask? Redesign the FlashMXFiles banner! Click here for more details! Contest Ends December 1st, 2004.

As promised, FlashMXFiles has launched two new boards for Flash MX 2004. In the Help & Advice section, you may now post under MX04 Help & Advice for all those nagging questions about behaviors, timeline effects, spell check, and the host of other new features.
In the Actionscript section, we've opened MX04 Actionscript 2, where we'll all pitch in to learn about the new, more robust Actionscript 2... with MovieClipLoader, Error, and PrintJob Objects, new methods for building custom classes, and the new JSFL Javascript API.
We hope to see you all joining in the fun!

We hope youre caught up on your sleep, because youre probably going to be up late for the next couple of weeks! Macromedia today officially released its MX 2004 suite of products. Naturally, we wish Macromedia all the best on their product rollout, and look forward to hours of fun and countless sleepless nights as we all try to come up to speed with the new products.
This update will cause some obvious changes at FlashMXFiles. In the coming weeks, expect to see new forums dedicated to Flash MX 2004 and Actionscript 2. Were still considering options, so be sure to make recommendations on the Forum Suggestions board if you have any novel ideas!

FlashMXFiles will be sending ambassadors to Flash In The Can in Toronto this April! Two of our very own mods Warangel and Tanenbaumm will meet up there, where Warangel (aka Marcus Dickinson) will run an introduction to FlashMX workshop, and Tanenbaumm (aka Marc Tanenbaum) will promote FlashMXFiles to the festival membership. FITC has graciously provided passes.
As many of you know, Warangel is heavily involved in FlashInTO and in making Flash In The Can happen.
As many of you might imagine, Tanenbaumm is looking forward to a trip to Toronto.
An exciting few days are anticipated, with addresses from such Flash luminaries as Colin Moock (Actionscript: the Definitive Guide), Branden Hall (Object-Oriented Programming with ActionScript, Flash Enabled), and Kevin Lynch (chief software architect for Macromedia), plus the annual FITC awards festival, the IronFlash competition (think Iron Chef meets Wrestlemania meets Flash geek!), and -- we are told -- a few surprises!
I'm sure we are all keen to see some photos and hear some great stories from these two when they return. I hope all runs as planned War, as I'm sure it will with yourself at the helm. Marc, I expect to see an army of new recruits on your return. Have fun guys.

Tonight we have a new moderator on FlashMXfiles.com. You could probably guess who it is (no it's not Nomi). Everyone welcome Warangel to our moderator lineup! Warangel has been a dedicated posting force since he joined FlashMXFiles months ago. His knowledge and support (and hours he must spend answering questions) knows no limits. As you can guess I was more than happy to have someone of this caliber show an interest in being part of our team. Thank you Warangel for your support and welcome to moderator status.

We are testing the new server tonight. You normal users may notice that you need to login because of the new cookie settings. If everything goes ok over the next 24 then we will commit to our new settings and the url will return to normal. There is a chance you will notice a speed increase. Feel free to shout my way if you see any bugs running around.

It is about that time to vote for your favorite Halloween entry. 10 entries were submitted and 1 of those people will received $75 on Oct 31st. Thanks to everyone who took the time to put their entries together.

New Prize: $40 delivered promptly via Paypal
What do you have to do?: Either land on the correct number or discreetly hack only the random number generator and disclose your methods
Anything I should know?: This random number generator will be used for future games/contests and we are making sure it is as secure as can be. Any insight or help would be much appreciated. Note that you can still win this thing via persistance. You must be logged in (free) in order to try the generator by normal means.

Update: Nobody cracked or landed on the correct random number. Please read new news item and disregard this one.
Please take a few moments to help us test our new random number generator. The generator will be used in future contests. This may only be a test but we will still give $20 to the first person who lands on the right number. Press that shiny button as many times as you like. If you have lots and LOTS of patience, you are bound to win our test prize.
On a side note.... Not only do we hit our 6 month old mark on March 25 but we also broke 3000 posts today and now have well over 600 registered members. There are many many more unregistered visitors everyday (common guys! speak up!). It is great to see our little forum starting to blossom.

I have added a better (quicker) realtime chat module to FlashMXFiles.com today. We are still in a beta and I am waiting for my official license key to register the applet. Regardless, the applet should be fully functional. If you have problems connecting to the chat applet let me know and we will troubleshoot the problem. While in the forum, this chat feature should be available at the bottom of any page until we find a permanent home for it.

MARC BY MARCJACOBS(マーク BY マークジェイコブス)ロゴプレートチャームがポイントの、2WAYショルダーバッグです。
